Using Illustrator, design a series of 10 (TEN) pieces that illustrate a words meaning visually through the type you use and the way that you arrange and manipulate it, one word per page.
An example might be to illustrate the word BUBBLE using fat, rounded text that looks bubble-like.
Think carefully about space: the interaction of the space of the page with the text, as well as the spaces in, around, and through the text. The letters may be scattered across the page, they need not be in a straight, orderly row. Once you create a word with the font that seems most appropriate (experiment!) you may outline your text (Type>Create Outlines). Outlining turns your text into objects. Next ungroup the newly outlined word (Object>Ungroup). You may then select individual letters to move them around the page (Selection tool or black arrow).
Play with the words and their meaning, visualize them! Some words you might think about experimenting with: LAZY, FALLING, SLOTH, JUICY, BALLOON, SLIDE, SLITHER, FAMILIES, SLIP, MARK...
Please look through the available typefaces carefully in order to choose type that will work well with the meaning of the words you choose.
You will be assessed on the inventiveness and creativity of your word creations. Try to visualize the word as you say it out loud.
Once you have finished ten pieces, choose your FIVE strongest.
Close the pieces in Illustrator. Open Photoshop on your dock at the bottom of the desktop. File>Open
Find the files, Open one of your images.
File>Save As
Under Format (at the
bottom of the Dialog box) Change to a jpeg file.If the space around the image has changed for the worst, you can go to Image>Canvas Size
Here you can change the space around the word art you have created.
